
Will joined The Jungle Group in 2006 after a National Diploma in Music Technology. He works across all three facilities and can often be found out in the ‘field’ with the portable recording equipment.

What drew you into sound?
I’d always helped mate’s bands with the sound and put on DJ nights, that sort of thing. What with that and bootlegging Oasis concerts it all seemed to be heading in the sound direction.
Do you do any sound stuff outside of The Jungle Group?
I engineer for a couple of bands both in the studio and live. I’m also part of the stage crew at a festival in Dorset.
What’s different about transfer these days as opposed to when you started?
Many more digital files and less physical stock, wavs have replaced the old DATs.
What advancement has had the biggest impact on your job?
Having all 12 studios across 2 streets and 3 facilities linked by fibre optics with central servers handling everything from sfx to digital backups really streamlines my job.
